Riders Republic, the ambitious sports sandbox from Ubisoft originally scheduled to release on 25th February, has removed its helmet and taken a chill pill until “later this year”. The development team shared the news on Twitter, although it opted for a white background as opposed to the customary yellow we’ve all been trained to associate these kind of updates with.
The studio said that the additional time “will allow our passionate team to deliver the best fun fuelled experience to our players”. There’s no word of a new release window or when we can expect more information, but this is the second delay of the week after Hogwarts Legacy was pushed back yesterday. Expect it to become a trend as the industry continues to wrestle with coronavirus.

Was looking forward to this one, but not hugely surprising really. Might be a year for your backlog, this one.
Might be wise to not put a date on your game during these pandemic times. Better yet, put a date on your games' release when you know it's ready and not because of pre-order targets or investor pressure.
@get2sammyb Be intresing to see if any AAA game releases in next few months but understandable due to the circumstances. Looking forward to Kena and Little devil both look amazing so a few things to keep us occupied.
@Max2574 Hitman 3 is out next week! But yeah, I get your overall point. Probably going to be a sparser year to be honest.
I actually really enjoyed Steep so this is a promising game. Delays aren’t a huge surprise though.
@get2sammyb After the episodic Hitman last time out I lost interest in the franchise. Is it more of the same or a linear approach this time round. Used to love the older Hitman games.

"year of the backlog" people might not have backlogs if they been on lockdown since February last year....
@Gaming365247 agreed. My backlog is practically finished now that lockdown has lasted so long, to the point where I finally started the Soulsborne series - that’s when you know I’m desperate for entertainment!!
